Every gift brings us closer to securing this home.

Some of the children we are seeking to provide a permanent home for.
Our Urgent Need:
A Permanent Home
for the Children
For the past five years, Empowerment Charities has provided a safe, loving home for former street children and other vulnerable youth in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines. This work has been funded primarily through my own hospitality business—created specifically for this purpose—and supported by occasional donations from people who share this vision.

Today, we are at a pivotal moment.
Our current living situation has become increasingly difficult, and we urgently need to secure a permanent home where these children can grow, and thrive.

For the first time, a solution is within reach — but we cannot do it without help.

Whether your gift is $10 or $1,000, it will help provide a much needed permanent home for the children.
The Need to Move
Since our current living situation has become increasingly difficult, for the well-being of our children and caregivers, it is important to leave our current apartment by the end of February. Finding a suitable home has been extremely challenging.

For nearly two years we have been searching for a home that is:
-
Large enough for 12–15 children and caregivers
-
Willing to accept former street children
-
Close to the market, where our cook shops daily for food
-
Affordable
Until now, we had not been able to find a place that met all these needs.

A Blessed Opportunity
Recently we received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a dream come true:
A caregiver's relative has offered to sell us their property below market value.

This property offers everything we’ve been searching for and more:
-
Close to the downtown market
-
Various fruit trees the children can harvest
-
A garden where they can learn to grow their own food
-
A large open space for basketball, badminton, soccer, etc.
-
Two houses: one move-in ready, and another that can later be renovated to help future children in need
Most importantly, it offers something we have never had before: long-term stability.

Our Immediate Need
Through the combination of a generous donation and a personal loan from a friend, I was able to secure the $75,000 for the purchase price of the property.

However, due to unexpected complications and additional costs involved in purchasing property in the Philippines, we are still in need of approximately $24,000 to cover required fees, taxes, and legal expenses.

After exhausting all other options, I am humbly reaching out for help to bridge this final gap.

How You Can Help
If you have a desire to be part of this effort—through a donation, by sharing this page, or through prayers or good vibes—we would be deeply grateful.

Time is critical. The process of purchasing property takes time, and it is imperative that we move the children by the end of February. Donating now will allow us to move forward without delay.

Every gift matters- whether it's $10 or $1,000, it makes a difference. These children need a new home, and with your help, we can give them one.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
With gratitude,
Beth
